America’s Great Hiking Trails won the 2015 Gold Lowell Thomas Award for best travel book and the 2014 IndieFab Gold “Book of the Year” award in Adventure. It also was a New York Times Travel Books Bestseller (January, 2015).

About the National Scenic Trails
America’s 11 National Scenic Trails were selected by Congress as routes of travel that offer outstanding recreational and backcountry experiences and that showcase the wealth of the American landscape, from beachfronts to forests to plains to farmland to deserts to the highest mountains in the contiguous states.
Some proceeds from the book are donated to the Partnership for the National Trails System.
